Malnutrition Screen Tool
Malnutrition can occur in people with cancer. It occurs when dietary intake of energy (food and fluid) and protein is less than the body’s requirements. This reduction can lead to unintentional weight loss and a loss of body fat and muscle.
People with cancer are at a higher risk of malnutrition due to cancer and treatment side effects. It is important if you are losing weight unintentionally or at risk of malnutrition to see an Accredited Practising Dietitian as soon as possible.
Are you at risk of malnutrition?
The Malnutrition Screening Tool is a specifically designed and validated tool used to recognise the risk of malnutrition for adults.
